U P D A T E S:
I have designed just about forty t-shirts and after I get to my fifty cut off I will be cutting twenty-five, and producing the other twenty-five for my release line.
If everything continues to go as planned - Brian Patrick Apparel will STILL be released in May.
The location of the fashion show HAS been determined, we can't say exactly where just yet but, it's going to completely throw you guys off - but it's sure to get BPA a lot of attention, we will give you a few clues: Soho, Manhattan - Grocery - Cages
Casting call to model for the show will be in March at the Openhouse Gallery (201 Mulberry Street - Downtown, Manatthan) Specific dates, information and time will later be posted along with a facebook event later.
A Brian Patrick Apparel meeting is occurring in about two weeks and once that's settled in hopefully the official www.brianpatrickapparel.com website will be up!
I'll keep you guys posted!
Cheers,
Brian

New Staff!
Hey guys, I'm terribly sorry I've not been posting as often as I should. This entire week I've had finals and midterms so I've been tied up in that, but I am posting today to introduce our new additions to our staff team! There's been a twist...
We have decided to scrap the entire idea of a street team, and instead have asked a few people who applied to be on the street team to have more of a specific job at Brian Patrick Apparel. We are all have a meeting in two weeks to discuss specific roles everyone will be in charge of. On top of that, we plan on having our official BPA website up at that time too! A lot of things are supposed to be happening by the end of February if all goes as planned.
I'm just going to introduce the four new people that will be helping us out in multiple ways, and will later give you information about their specific role and position with us. Okay so here we go...

Say hello to our official Street Team...
(: I have sent out the e-mails for who has been accepted onto our team! I will be posting their names and biographys Wednesday night! We just have to go over a few things as a team before we do anything!
Again, if you applied and did not make it... don't be offended it could have been for many reasons! The number one reason was because we ended up keeping the team to New York kiddies! Applications WILL be out again, and we are keeping all applications on record for future recruitment!
Cheers!

We have also decided on a release of 25 t-shirts and we have all of the designs complete as well, so we are looking good for releasing in May. The only thing now is $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $!
This is just a short post for now, I'll post a detailed one later!

Updates!
I am terribly sorry I have not been keeping up on the blog - this past weekend I celebrated my birthday and I had a very eventful weekend, and the week previous I was smacked in the face with a ton of work to complete. Rest assured, I will be updating the blog on a day-to-day basis once again.
The Street Team applications are still open as of today. That being said, I will be closing them early - we've received just short of 40 applications so far, and I am not looking forward to reading through all of them. The applications will probably close tomorrow or Wednesday. I will then go through all of them and probably post our new team over the weekend. Honestly, I am still in a big debate with myself. I am not sure if I want to have people represent BPA from other states, or even cities/counties just yet. I am pretty sure for now I am going to keep it to Brooklyn, Manhattan, Westchester, Upstate New York, parts of Connecticut, parts of New Jersey, and lastly a small portion of Pennsylvania. Again, this is still to be determined. We might decide that we're going to keep it to New York for now. But I promise you, given time, we will cover practically all of the US. I hope... ha
For my birthday I got a ton of new clothes and money for the most part. My three main gifts are all coming tomorrow. I ordered new shoes from Journeys that are Nike's with a ton of colours! I'll post a picture below.. I have had the same cell phone since I was thirteen so I am getting the LG Dare as well, which I am pretty phsyced about. And lastly, my gift to myself (kind of sort of) is my drivers learner permit! I am scared I'll fail my test but, I'm sure it'll be all good.
With all of my birthday money, I put it into my bank account, well for the most part. This will really help get Brian Patrick Apparel on the road faster. I am getting a debit card within the next month or so, which will be beneficial as well. And lastly, turning the sweet sixteen means I can get a job easily - so now I can begin to save all the money that is needed for my release!
Okay well I've been up since forever ago, so I need to get some sleep! Lets hope I pass my permit test!
By the way, here is a picture of the FABULOUS shoes I ordered!

Street Team Applications!
PLEASE NOTE: THE APPLICATIONS HAVE OFFICIAL CLOSED, THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST AND APPLICATIONS!
As promised, I am posting the street team applications. Before I do so, I just wanted to make sure you guys knew exactly what you are applying for before you run off and apply to something you don't have the slightest clue about.
What exactly is the Street Team?
Brian Patrick Apparel's street team is similar to others - but we will definitely have our twists here and there. Have you ever gone to a concert, and before or after the show you see people passing out flyer's, cds, stickers, etc with a band or clothing company on it? That's a street team! Well, not always, sometimes it's the band theme selves, but that is beside the point. The street team is basically a marketing team that advertises a company/band and gets people to check out what they are advertising. This can be accomplished several ways. For now, BPA is planning a sending a package to everyone on the street team that has a bunch of flyer's, stickers, information and official BPA Street Team T-shirt inside it. Once the member of the Street Team receives the package, there job is to pass out these flyer's and stickers. But they don't just pass it out to any Joe Schmoe on the street... They should give them to people they think would actually be interested in BPA and would take the time to check us out. This is why it's very important that we pick the right people to be on the street team. Another thing is we are obviously not going to take 15 people from Westchester County, we only need a handful of people per area. Right now we are only looking at a few areas, but we do plan on expanding shortly!
Okay I'm pretty sure that's all the information you need to know before applying. The application can be found below. Just copy and paste it into an e-mail, fill it out, and send it too brian_patrick@london.com with the subject line: STREET TEAM APPLICATION. Your application will not even be touched if it does not have the correct subject line. You will be contacted via e-mail if you do or if you do not make the street team. To make the street team we are looking for certain types of people, but the criteria is going to be kept a secret. Applications will always roll back around, as we will promote people to business leaders, designers, etc from the Street Team - so spots will need to be filled as time quickly passes by.
APPLICATIONS WILL CLOSE JANUARY 22ND.
Please do not contact Brian Patrick Apparel to find out if one has been accepted or not, you will be contacted once applications have closed, all have been read, and decisions have been made. When and if you do contact us, it will just give yourself a bad image and will decrease your chances of being selected.
On a nicer note, I hope you all have a nice week and I will post again when something comes up!
Cheers

Logo Logo Logo
Honestly, I am shocked at how many people don't know what a logo is. Brian Patrick Apparel is currently working on coming out with a logo as soon as possible! If you have any ideas, suggestions, samples, etc send them to brian_patrick@london.com If your idea, suggestion, sample, etc is used, you will recieve a free t-shirt and possibly be admitted to our team! (Street Team for now, which could later result in promotions!)
- Advantages of logo design
Logo design promotes the business professionally in the market.
Logo design helps in attracting potential customers and client to the business.
Logo design gives a unique and innovative identity to the business.
Logo design is as important to the business as the business name.
You get the idea (I hope)! So in the upcoming weeks we will be busy creating the best logo possible! Send your ideas, suggestions, and samples and what not to brian_patrick@london! Who knows, maybe you'll find yourself on our team or your idea being used!
Cheers!
PS: Street Team Applications are currently out and will be out until early February - apply while you can ;)

Street Team!
I really do not have much time to talk, so I'm going to keep this sweet and simple - but I am going to be opening Street Team applications over the weekend. For now I'm just going to give it a try, and based on how it goes I will continue it, add more, stop it, etc.
What's a street team?
Well, the street team of a company has many purposes, but to start out, our street teams purpose will be to advertise BPA (Brian Patrick Apparel) and get us some viewers to the blog and hopefully we can get more people to follow the blog so that when we release, more people buy the apparel, etc.
How do I advertise?
Basically, if you are accepted to being part of the Street Team, you are the/a representative (there may be more than one per area) for your area. You will be sent the latest information first, and will recieve monthly packages. Inside will include flyers that you will be in charge of posting where possible, catalogues, and a package of about 250 cards (the size of a post card) advertising Brian Patrick Apparel. You would be in charge of passing these out to people you think would actually take the time to visit the site! You would get discounts off apparel, and an official shirt that is limited to the street team/staff. You would also be in charge of other things, but I'll explain more later in the week when I post the actual applications!
(: Cheers

Question and Answer: #1
As I said, I was going to post a question and answer blog ASAP. I received a lot of e-mails about the colours I requested for you guys to send in, questions, and comments! Again, keep them coming because I am going to post more Q&A blogs, and I really want as many of you guys as possible to tell me which colours you guys like. A lot of your questions have already been answered in my previous posts - and a lot of you are asking the same questions. How this is going to work is I'm just going to pick 3 questions each time and the rest that I've not answered will sit in my e-mail inbox, and I will be able to look at them the next time I post a Q&A blog. Okay...
*send questions, comments, and colour suggestions *see post below* too brian_patrick@london.com*
Q: How much are the t-shirts going to cost?
Vanessa, White Plains, NY
A: At least five other people asked this question too, which is why I chose it. I am still undecided about this. There are many factors that will be put into consideration when coming up with the actual price. We are not sure if we're going to do one price for all t-shirts, or if for some reason or another one shirt will be 20 dollars, while another may be 25. I would say to expect the shirts to sell from 15-25 dollars, but honestly I can't say until we figure out how much money we end up spending on the t-shirts, and at the same time we need to raise money so we can fund for our fashion show. We aren't really looking for huge profit. The more shirts we can sell, the cheaper the shirts can be. So this question can't be answered in it's entirety, but again, I'd say to expect 15-25 dollars.
Q: Can I model for your clothing?
Christina, (no other information given)
A: It's possible! There will be more specific information about this posted very soon, probably this or next week. What we're going to do is have a casting call where you will just fill out a few papers, answer a few questions, try on a few sample designs, we will take your picture, and that's pretty much it. There will be two different categories you could go for, modeling for the fashion show, or modeling at a photo shoot to wear the clothes to be posted on our online store/catalogues/advertisements/etc, or you could go for both! Again, more specific information about this is too follow!
Q: Can I see some of the t-shirts/designs/samples?
A: I've answered this several times around the blog, yet at least 10 people have asked me this. Look around the blog, figure it out. I really don't mean to sound bitchy - but it's so repetitive that I'm just redirecting that question to the blog itself because it's been plastered several times on the blog.
Okay, there are still a few good questions that remain unanswered that will sit in my inbox for me too look at later in the week, and then I will post, yet again, another Q&A.
*send questions, comments, and colour suggestions *see post below* too brian_patrick@london.com*
We didn't have classes today! The weather basically froze everything over and everything looks like it just hit an ice age. Some branches off of a huge tree in my front lawn fell and hit my sisters old car (that we don't use anyway), but still. So I woke up around 4 PM today. Well, that's a lie. I woke up around 11, and then set my alarm for 12 so I could just get a bit more rest, which was very much so needed (I went to bed at 4 am). For some reason or another, my alarm never went off and I just slept like a baby until late afternoon. It's been a lazy day and I've done no homework yet, just read, did some laundry, and scrolled aimlessly on the internet. In a week and a few days I will be celebrating my birthday, which I am excited about. I got a lot for Christmas this past year (Nikon D80, winter coat, a lot of books, etc) so I am really not expecting a lot. But I do know that my phone contract is up on January 18th, 2009 (my birthday), and mum did ask me what type of phone I'd like to get... so I'm probably just getting that. At first I thought I wanted the Voyager - but then I discovered the Dare and fell in love - so I told her that. I asked my brother and sister to buy me a ten-use ticket to the city and back via train so I wouldn't have to pay so much money to just get my arse there. And I don't get gifts from my dad, go figure.

Tuesday, January 6

So I'm sitting in class and I can hardly keep my eyes open. What's the point of me taking Word/Powerpoint when I already know how to do all of this nonsense... I was e-mailed this post-secret to me and couldn't NOT post it. Thanks for the replies so far about the comments, questions and colours! A lot have turned up so far considering I only asked for some about twelve hours ago! Keep them coming (;
My global teacher, who I had last period, was supposed to give me his book The Reader to read, and of course he forgot - ohhhh Mr. Konis at best. Ha - but I'm just going to have to wait and get it tomorrow, or possibly Thursday... Talk is that we won't be having class tomorrow due to a bunch of snow and ice coming tonight and lasting until tomorrow afternoon! I have a feeling that a day of movies, tea, and listening to 90s music is in store for a few friends and I. (:
As much as I would like to sit her and blog all day, I've got to get to next class, but hopefully I can update this later.
Again, keep your favourite colours coming as well as your questions and comments! I want to post a blog with a Q&A.

Colour Wheel
So pretty recently I took a colour theory class and it really helped me understand and get a grip as too which colours go well with each other, which should not be worn in which season, etc etc. I recently received my American Apparel wholesale catalogue and was overwhelmed by the endless possibilities. Honestly, the colour selection for their t-shirts is orgasmic, to say the least. I am still in a debate with myself over if I want any of my designs in v-necks, and if so, how many and which colours. But I'm pushing that a side for now... I'm just going to focus on good old t-shirts - nothing fancy. Again, this is just temporarily - I can and will be making revisions. BUT - enough jibber jabber - I am posting today to ask you guys what colours you'd like to see for the base of the t-shirts. I am NOT asking...what you think the design of the t-shirt should be, what words should appear on the t-shirt, if the shirt should be a v-neck or not, you get the picture... I am asking is for you to tell me your top few (two or three) colours that you would wear for a graphic t-shirt. The reason I am doing this is because pretty soon I am going to have to order the t-shirts, or make selections for colours. If I get a lot of responses and I see a large number of you guys say you really like the colour gold, for instance, then that could be beneficial to me and would influence my decision in buying gold t-shirts.
So, how do I view the colours available Brian?!
Well if you click on the post title, Colour Wheel, it should direct you to an American Apparel link. If scroll down just a bit you will see all of the colour choices available. If you can't seem to get to the link for some strange reason you can also click here. Below I also have posted all of the colours along with their names - but if you go to the link you can see the actual t-shirt in that colour, and what you might have thought would be a great colour for a t-shirt, may actually look like shit. So I suggest actually taking the time and clicking the link!
After you have picked your top two or three colours e-mail them to Brian Patrick Apparel at brian_patrick@london.com Be sure to spell the names right! If you want to include anything else in the e-mail (questions, comments, etc) please feel free to do so! However, if you ask a question that I have already answered in this blog, I will just re-direct you here.
Once I get a lot of feedback I will post about some of the results and what colours I personally enjoy. Later tonight or tomorrow I am going to post a Q&A (question and answer) blog, so if you have any send them to me along with your colour choices as soon as possible!
On another note, classes have started again. I didn't get to bed until extremelly late last night, as predicted. I woke up late, rushed to get ready, and on my way out the door slipped and fell straight on my arse due to my obliviousness to the huge patches of black ice waiting for me outside my front door. I was hit with a bit too much homework for first day back, but I finished it all, thankfully. I didn't get to start to read that book Choke that I was talking about in my last post. Instead, my global teacher is bringing in a different book for me to read, he thinks I'll enjoy it. The Reader - a movie was just made of it too, seems pretty interesting. They're talking about a snow storm to come starting early tomorrow night... hopefully school is delayed/canceled for Wednesday... that would be nice. Oh and today thanks to my good friend, Josh Hoffman, I figured out how to auto-delay my pictures using my D80! Leave it to Josh to help me with something like that! No more arm-length myspace pictures! Speaking of Josh Hoffman... he himself is a photographer - check out his photography with the link below! AND ON TOP OF THAT, he also has his own clothing line too - SMACKED! Apparel, which you should also check out via the link below! Okay well enough konipchonboobala - it's 11:33, and I'm fucking tired! Goodnight!

The Start
I made this blog as soon as I woke up on January 1st - at 5:20 in the afternoon. What a way to start the New Year, huh? Waking up so late in the afternoon... Well New Years Eve was a blast... to say the least. (see bottom for pictures) Tomorrow my regular schedule starts up again and I'll have to wake up at 6 and stay up late due to my wonderful talent of procrastinating and survive on 4/5 hours of sleep Monday - Friday.
Brian Patrick Apparel - where in the game am I? Well I have about one hundred and ten things I have to get done in such little time. Right now I have 14 designs complete, but that's not good enough. My good friend Mitch is in his last year finishing his masters in Fashion Merchandising, and he is the one I am turning to for help when needed. He's been helping me since day one - back in March of 08. Mitch wants me to get at least 30 designs together, but he said to aim for 50. Then we're going to narrow it down to 20 and go through with those for my first release. I just got my American Apparel wholesale account set up, which confirms that my t-shirts will be printed on American Apparel. Mitch and I worked together for a long time today and we got a lot done. I am questioning if I still want this to be my solo-project, or if I want to add a few more hands to the team to help around. It sure would make things move a lot faster - but at the same time I really do want to be able to turn around once I am done with this all and say I've done it all by myself...
The plan right now is to release May 16th with a Fashion Show, and the online store opening the following day, May 17th. Due to how much money things are adding up to, the little space I have, and time - I'm becoming a little nervous. Honestly, if things aren't perfect - then I will not under any circumstances release my clothing. I'd rather have things come out the right way and nicely, then rushed and sloppy. With all of this being said, if I do not make progress and start getting things together sooner - the release will be pushed back to early September 09. I've already told a few people about this and each and everyone of them asked me why... Well if I don't have things completed by late May - I probably would need about another month or so. Come June I will probably not be all over BPA (Brian Patrick Apparel to the new kids) due to Finals, but then July will roll around and I will be able to work on it some more, but then come August and I am going to London for two weeks. That will leave me with a few weeks left to finish finishing touches, and then September rolls around and I should be good. Again, this is only if I can't get my shit together in time for the original release
A few of you actually follow up on this whole thing, and often times will ask me about how the line is going which makes me really happy to know that people are actually interested! That's what makes me know this is all worth while. A lot of you also keep asking to see my designs, which I would love to do, but if I show some stuff to even a few people, others will want to see them as well, and before you know it - there will be no point in a release show. I hope to have previews up in early March! More information on that to come...
A lot of you also ask to visit my "studio". That actually can be arranged - but I'm only there about twice a month. My uncle was generous enough to allow me to have my own room in his apartment in the upper east side of Manhattan. I call it my studio because it's where I keep all of my supplies, mannequins, my two sewing machines, most of my drafts for my designs, etc. It's just hard to have people come visit for several reasons. For one, I only get down to the place twice a month, IF THAT, and when I am there I am usually working so hard to get in as much as possible because of how rare it is that I actually get to visit the place.
Mitch and I tried to track down the reasons this whole process is taking so long and honestly, one of the main reasons is because I am in my studio maybe twice a month, aka I get like no time to work on my stuff. I am currently looking for a place to rent that's closer. Right now I am looking at this small studio right in the town that I live in. It's right near Starbucks and this place I often go to for sushi so it would actually work out great... It's too complicated at the moment to buy - but it's been open for rent since August and no one has really looked at it, so hopefully if I hold off for now, it will still be available to rent down the road... say March. It wouldn't be like a store - it would just be a place for me to get my work done and completed. It would also take care of not having to deal with so many bloody packages coming to my front door and mum screaming for me to go get them...
Okay well, it's getting late and I have a lot of laundry to do and I want to get some reading done... I'm reading Choke - Chuck Palahniuk. It's really good - I'll post about it when I finish. Check back tomorrow or later in the week for more posts for updates - I'm going to probably post some different colours for t-shirts and I want you guys to give me your input for which colours you like/would wear.
OH yeah! And I'm sorry there are no pictures to go with this post (with the exception of the two from New Years), I have no excuse either! I got my Nikon D80 finally this past Christmas - but I promise for more pictures and not so much text for future posts!
Goodbye!
(where's the good in a goodbye?)
